Russian adventurer Fedor Konyukhov started round-the-world flight in hot air balloon on July 12, 2016 from Northam in Western Australia. He aims to beat 2002 record set up by Steve Fossett who completed round the world journey with his balloon the Spirit of Freedom in 13 days, 8 hours and 33 minutes.

Konyukhov wants to finish the 33,000 km journey in 13 days. He disposes of modern technologies including hybrid balloon eRoziere 550 built by Cameron Balloons which is filled with hot air, but also helium. The composite gondola, built also by Cameron Balloons, houses the pilot, control systems, oxygen supplies, flight communication and navigational instruments, water and food supplies, and life-saving equipment. ...
